In-between there were owls, hawks, goats, sheep, lizards (big ones), snakes, spiders, tortoises, parakeets to macaws that were in my care. I worked with many friends and veterinarians and experienced rabbits, pigs, skunks, and hedgehogs. Just to name a few. Starting a nonprofit that supported pet safety was very me and still is but a couple of years ago, 2021, I was asked to house two dying neonate possums overnight. In the morning when my friend called to make arranges for their dead bodies. I said, "What? they are still alive!" to which she replied, "What? They are still alive!" All those years of hands on and teaching Pet First Aid through the nonprofit paid off. And just like that I was hooked! I started looking into what you have to do to become a rehabber, when I found a satellite faciality that took me under their wings! Today working mainly with small mammals like possums, squirrels, skunks, or racoons. I am doing what I love! What I was made for! Who I am! In 2023 - 2024 I have been part of a committee with Fish and Wildlife to revamp criteria on enclosures, care & treatment of native and non native species legal to rehab in the state of California. That is so me to jump in with both feet. Anything for the safety of pets and wildlife. I offer specialized care which increases the chances for the animal's successful return back to the wild.
We are a registered CA 501 (c) 3
It's not done alone.
We need people to help wildlife first, then who look for rehabbers.
I do not take more animals than I can handle. It's not fair to the animals I have.
Through donations from our wish list, YOU allow me to do more!
All cash donations help with veterinarian cost.
I have a lot of my own knowledge and
many knowledgeable connections.
